Press release on the 4th session of the 5th mandate of the Senate
On 16 October 2025, the Secretariat General of the Senate issued a press release detailing the results of the 4th Session of the 5th Mandate, held under the presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, with 60 members in attendance. The session reviewed the Standing Committee’s report on the Senate’s activities between the 3rd and 4th sessions (July 7–October 6, 2025).
Key legislative achievements included seven meetings of the Standing Committee and four extraordinary Senate meetings to review and provide input on four draft laws, as well as elect one member to the National Anti-Corruption Council. The Senate also carried out its representative functions, with eight regional senatorial groups holding 32 gatherings to monitor public service provision, local development, and the aggression of Thai forces. Furthermore, the Senate’s international cooperation continued to expand under the leadership of its president, actively engaging in parliamentary diplomacy, including an official visit to Vietnam and discussions with international guests, while addressing the Cambodian-Thai border conflict caused by the Thai side.
